Stockton Dupres asked to lead
the Colorado Mountain Division
of the Squirrel Enforcement Army!
Located just outside of Leadville, Colorado,
Camp Hale was the location of the United States Army's
famous 10th Mountain Division during World War II.
Now it is home to the rugged abert Squirrels
who hold winter ski camps for the
squirrel enforcement army.
Camp Hale was placed on the
National Register of Historic Places in 1992.
Elite duty it is; but it isn't easy.
U.S. Forest Service officials closed a 15-acre
section of Camp Hale after finding live munitions
for the third time in two weeks.
The abert are highly intelligent and
physically capable soldiers
but they don't know the first thing about organization.
Said one S.E.A. official, "Sloppiness like this
(leaving live munitions lying around)
will cost us dearly if we don't get it under control."
Stockton Dupres has spent the last
several years leading a successful campaign
against squirrel hunters in Kentucky
where squirrels are still murdered for their brains,
which are not only a delicacy -
But, warn health officials, there is a possible link
between eating squirrel brains and the rare and deadly
human variety of mad-cow disease, Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease.
Dupres will spend the rest of the Winter and Spring at Camp Hale.
Said Dupres, "This is a great opportunity for me to get some
Nordic ski training under my belt and at the same time,
help to bring the Colorado Mountain Division of the S.E.A.
into alignment with the rest of our army."
